Semi-hidden Frame Glass Curtain Wall
- Tuohua offers two semi-hidden configurations: vertical-hidden with horizontal-exposed, and horizontal-hidden with vertical-exposed. Both deliver balanced aesthetics and structural performance.
Introduction
The Semi-hidden Frame Glass Curtain Wall blends the advantages of both exposed and hidden systems. One direction of the frame (vertical or horizontal) is concealed behind the glass, while the other remains visible. This allows designers to play with linear patterns and shadow effects.
Two Subtypes:
Vertical-hidden & Horizontal-exposed : Vertical mullions are hidden; horizontal transoms are visible. Creates strong horizontal banding, emphasizing width.
Horizontal-hidden & Vertical-exposed : Horizontal transoms are hidden; vertical mullions are visible. Produces clean vertical lines, emphasizing height.
Application Scenarios
Mixed-use commercial buildings
Airport terminals and train stations
Convention centers
High-end residential developments
Key Advantages
Design Flexibility: Choose horizontal or vertical emphasis based on architectural vision.
Balanced Performance: Hidden parts improve visual continuity; exposed parts add structural clarity.
Cost-Effective Alternative: More affordable than fully hidden systems while offering a similar look.
Easy Drainage & Ventilation: Exposed frames can incorporate weep holes and opening vents.
